DiscGolf

DiscGolf is based on the playing style of classic ball golf.
The game is usually played on a DiscGolf course with catching baskets.
Special Frisbees®, so-called discs, are used here.
The aim is to place your DiscGolf disc into the DiscGolf basket at the end of the course with as few throws as possible.
Whoever needs the fewest attempts wins!

The Beginnings - Players Staring at Trees

In the 1960s, people first started throwing their Frisbees at random objects. As target practice and just for fun. "Can you hit that tree over there?"

Today's disc golf soon developed from these first playful throwing exercises. Fixed start and finish positions were identified and marked, very similar to classic golf. The aim is to throw your disc into one of the metal baskets, which are between 30m and 300m away from the throw-off point, in as few throws as possible. OK, 300m might only be used by the pros, but the principle is the same as in (mini) golf: play continues where the disc stops.

If your name is Simon Lizotte , then you can throw a DiscGolf disc a good 150-200 meters... with a single throw! Simon is our German prodigy, has been living in the USA for several years now and earns millions playing DiscGolf. DiscGolf has come a long way!

DiscGolf Equipment – Discs, Markers, Carts

What different clubs are for golfers, different discs are for us. Some fly to the right, others to the left, one glides very far through the air and yet another is optimized for sensitive throwing over short distances. The great thing about disc golf is that most disc golf courses can be found in public parks and are usually free to play .

A disc to start with will cost you between 10 and 20 euros and you can get started right away! Our WOD starter sets, specially put together for you, make it even easier for you (clickhere to find out why).

If you have been playing the sport for a while, you will also use a small mini disc to mark your position and a bag that fits your discs perfectly. Maybe you even have a trolley that you can sit on during short breaks and that can transport all the items you need. Disc golf is professional and there is the right equipment for everyone.

It all depends on the right technique!

Depending on the lane, situation and throwing technique, a skilled player selects the right disc.

We'll be happy to teach you the basic throwing techniques and rules so you can get started right away. You can find really good discs to get you started in our WOD shop at Bahnhofstrasse 16 in Wenzenbach and directly here online. Then you can hold the discs in your hand and feel what suits you and your hands best when you start your first round of DiscGolf.

DiscGolf all over the world ... and at home

Disc golf has grown rapidly worldwide over the last 10 years. In the USA, the sport's top stars earn millions, in Finland every second person plays disc golf and there are now facilities in most countries around the world.

There are around 150 permanently installed DiscGolf facilities in Germany, and the number is constantly growing. We are actively committed to making the sport bigger and have already installed new facilities at locations in Bavaria, Austria and Greece.

The quickest and easiest way to find the course closest to you is to use the “ UDisc ” app. Here you can also connect directly with your friends and record your results without a pen and notepad. And if you like, you can then share them with the rest of the world.

If you live in eastern Bavaria, our course in Wenzenbach Aue is the best way to get started in the sport: whether you're a complete beginner or a professional player, everyone really gets their money's worth here. The 10.5 (why 0.5 is something you'll have to find out for yourself) permanently installed baskets can be played in a variety of ways, offering challenging courses for experienced players as well as a rewarding introduction for newbies and children.
